Jelinek Maschinen explains why, to work safely on particularly steep slopes, it is sometimes necessary to have a configuration built around the real operating context — not a one-size-fits-all machine.
When a client faces a concrete constraint or a non-standard request, the ability to design and manufacture custom solutions makes all the difference. At Hymach, we know how to find the best solution for the critical issues that halt operations.
That is exactly why Fuoriserie was born: to tell real stories of specific needs—and how they turn into a work-ready configuration.
The Problem: when the client’s request doesn’t fit the standard
Jelinek Maschinen is an Austrian family business active since 1976, specializing in green space maintenance equipment and machinery. They work with a highly diverse clientele: from private individuals purchasing landscaping equipment to third-party mowing contractors and companies operating cutting systems along highways. Their main challenge? Complex terrains and, above all, the steep slopes typical of their region. That is where a standard vehicle can become a risk—not just for productivity, but for safety.
“Most clients have to mow very steep hills: with a wider mower, it would be too dangerous, as it could slip or roll over.”

In these environments—such as highway embankments or forested areas—a traditional tractor often cannot operate, unlike a compact and stable machine capable of navigating tricky terrain.
When conditions are pushed to the limit—severe slopes and rugged woodlands—even an already robust base can be optimized to work with a greater safety margin. This “extra edge” means being able to tackle even more extreme applications with greater continuity and peace of mind. And when the alternative is manual labour, the physical strain (and time) becomes a very real cost.
“Doing a large part of it by hand is incredibly hard: that’s why you need a stable machine that you can control remotely.”

The recurring request from clients is clear: a compact and robust machine that offers the versatility to use multiple attachments, combined with the safety advantage of remote-control operation.
The Solution: designing a configuration built around the real environment
In Jelinek’s case, the request arose as an upgrade for a highly specific application: operating with greater control on the extremely steep banks typical of their territory. For this reason, the customization focused on a concrete detail: a specific configuration featuring a longer front track on the Herbhy 50 tool-carrier vehicle.
To solve their problem, we implemented:
- An extra roller
- A dual front idler wheel (instead of a single one) to reduce lateral swaying.
“We asked for a longer front track: an extra roller and a dual front idler wheel to eliminate the lateral rocking effect caused by extreme slopes.”

What actually changes in the field
This customization developed by Hymach stems from the goal of further increasing ground contact and stability in exclusively extreme environments. The result is a more predictable drive, with an even greater margin of safety and control. This translates into increased safety for the operator and more consistent work quality, especially on steep slopes and embankments.
In practice: fewer steering corrections while driving and more control in critical situations where instability is felt immediately.
Today, the machine can tackle the extreme applications typical of their region with more confidence and continuity. And when the work gets “serious” (steep inclines, heat, continuous hours), the capability of a machine base engineered to endure truly shines: oil capacity, temperature management, and a reversible fan.
“The machine base is brilliantly designed: a rugged chassis, large oil capacity, smart electronics, and a reversible fan.”

Herbhy tool-carrier vehicles are a platform designed to work with various attachments in challenging environments where strength, autonomy, and ease of maintenance are essential. In other words: the customization works because it relies on a platform built for the purpose. It is this combination that reduces downtime, optimizes schedules, and allows operators to get the job done with greater peace of mind, season after season.
Fuoriserie is the Hymach series dedicated to solutions born from real requests: when the standard is not enough, and it is necessary to design — in-house — the right configuration to achieve the desired result.
